Second Language Roadmap

Second Language grows in three stages. Each one adds the next band of the most frequent words in the language, with new quests and new ways to practice, until you know the words fluent speakers use every day.

  1. Beginner Curriculum

    Most frequent words covered0–250 words
    Target levelA1–A2

    The game is out on iOS, Android, and the web. The intro course teaches the 250 most useful words through quests, conversations with characters, and thousands of practice sentences.

    • Intro course: the first 100 words, built around the opening quests
    • Intro expansion: 150 more words, for 250 in all
    • The first storyline quests, with characters who speak only your new language
    • 2,500 practice sentences, short stories, and spoken answers

  2. Proficiency Curriculum

    Target levelB1–B2

    Grows each course to the top 1,000 most frequent words. That is enough to follow everyday conversations, read simple articles, and talk about your life, work, and plans with some confidence.

  3. Fluency Curriculum

    Most frequent words covered1,000–3,000 words
    Target levelC1+

    Expands from 1,000 to 3,000 words, covering most of the vocabulary fluent speakers know and use. Built for following native-speed speech, reading real-world writing, and expressing nuance.
